Session #14

Identity Fraud :)

Fang

As Played by Dimitri

Fang (Lv. 8)

Lv. 8 Barbarian

Fang is a half-orc, leaning more on the orc side than human. His family has always lived on the edges of civilization, and he's learned everything he knows from them. Fang prioritizes his connection to people above all else, and it's through that connection he fuels and channels his rage. Fang desperately wants to be well-liked, and relies on his strength to get him out of most situations. He is also very superstitious, with a strong distaste for magic. "And the fate of man is in the hands/ Of he who stands and heeds the call" -Greta Van Fleet, Black Smoke Rising

A bullywug who grew up far away from society, Laetiporus was raised by a single grandmother. He always dreamed of going to the outside world, but his grandmother was scared of leaving the forest. From her he also inherited a fear of outsiders -- but realized he had to get over this fear if he was going to care for Mortimer, his giant cursed rabbit. He finally ventured out, and now loves the outside world with his lovely village. He dreams of one day visiting the mystical land of "Poland" that his grandmother always told him stories about.

Astrid

As Played by Amanda

Lv. 8 Druid (Circle of the Moon)

A Wood Elf druid with long, curly brown hair. She has a Druidic focus that is just a big stick.

Sun July 16, 1178 (08:00) - Mon July 17, 1178 (00:00)

In the morning, a gnome comes to visit the party in the Common Merchant's Inn. It's the same gnome who showed Teemo and Korg the way to the black market the day before - Faened Ulra. Faened is actually the former chief of House Zemtyr, who had been banished when the gods disapproved of a decision he made. After a decade on the streets, he's forged documents to construct a new identity for himself: Dolys'Hahs Bribar. Dolys needs the party to insert these documents into House Zemtyr's official records building, while destroying everything referencing his old name. He also wants them to get him noble regalia that he can wear to a gala the next day. Fang takes some time to craft an invisibility potion using the recipe he learned yesterday. It isn't great, but it works! Just only for half an hour. Using these, Astrid and Laetiporus travel to the Zemtyr castle in the city. In the meantime, Fang and Korg go to infiltrate the Monday Dam, to find its weaknesses and how best to destroy it. They follow some guards to an alleyway as they go for dinner, knock them unconscious and steal their armour to blend in with the rest. Using this, they easily enter the dam and go all the way down to the control room. There, they discover that the dam's water flow has been steadily decreasing for the past millenium, and that by current trends it'll reach 0 by year 3000. They also learn how the dam is structured and that instructions are sent to all dams downstream when any changes are made to the waterflow. After climbing back up, they are called in to stay until midnight for the end of "their" shift. They chat with a few other guards, notably the dwarf Ten-Kheait, who said she'll find them "at lunch tomorrow" to talk more. While all this is happening, cat form Astrid and an invisible Laetiporus sneak into the Zemtyr ledgers building. Some time is wasted as the cat keeps getting pet and played with, but they find their way in eventually. As they start searching for where to put the new documents, they realize that they've made a grave error: All the documents are in gnomish. Laetiporus can't read, and Astrid doesn't know gnomish. To remedy this, Astrid (as a cat) knocks over a stack of papers including the new ones, and lets one of the employees file them correctly. Laetiporus then steals the employee's cloak, using it to pretend to be a gnome and threatens her to give him all files associated with Faened Ulra. Taking these files, the two venture to the back wall of the estate, and do a sketchy jump across the wall and along the cliff face to get back into the city.
